TheFox Theme

TheFox is a responsive multi-purpose theme, created in May 2015 by Tranmautritam, an Envato elite author. The template is surprising and versatile, allowing you to build a corporate, business, agency, portfolios, eShop, blog or a magazine website.

Once you uploaded the demo, you can start to build pages and posts with the elements provided by the page builder and the three custom shortcodes. Most of the tools you need to customize the website to fit you project are just one click away. To give you more control over your website, the author crafted some extra settings for each post and page. With one of the four-page templates and post formats, along with the additional options you can customize sliders, headers, colors, videos and the sidebar area.

All the website’s areas are important, but the header section is essential as it holds your project visual identity and all the navigation. You can style this section using one of the 14 predefined layouts and customize it with colors and icon elements.
In TheFox, you can choose over 12 footer layouts with various styling options to make the bottom section of your website will look great.

There are some other “small” design elements, all vital for your websites like color schemes, typography and mega menus options we have tested for you. If you like colors, this theme gives you over 10 color schemes to choose from. TheFox also encourages you with color pickers that use HEX and RGB code to add your particular brand color on your site.

The theme comes with TheFox Options panel, which you can navigate through with ease and customize your website. Also, you have the opportunity to use the Customizer feature on the frontend and change some of the theme’s styling options. With this tool, you can select the header & footer layout, style the mobile menu, sidebar, content, with a particular color for text, background, borders and decide if you want to use a simple or a complex pageloader. Performance

We have tested the TheFox’s default demo on different page speed tests, and the content is loaded with a very low page speed, due to the multitude of images which aren’t compiled.

The Fox PageSpeed

The theme’s documentation provides extra information on how to optimize your website’s speed by installing a cache plugin, compressing images and a database optimizer guide. Also, they recommend you to remove unnecessary plugins and decrease the number posts, pages, images or icons.

Downsides

The biggest downside of TheFox is the missing search tool in the documentation. This could be a steep learning curve, especially for a WordPress beginner.

You have three demos to test your website with, but unfortunately, they come only with the structure and design, but without any content or media files.

Conclusion
Outfitted in beautiful images with parallax effects, TheFox is a flexible and neat WordPress theme. With multiple pre-built homepages and a lot of customization tools, the interface is not so user-friendly as expected. Nevertheless, I felt that TheFox worths the effort and dedication to learning how to use it and build a complex and beautiful eShop, blog, business, portfolio website.
